How do I Protect my Baby from Mosquito Bites?

How many times have you shooed and slapped mosquitoes away who try to suck your blood? I believe all of us have done that but babies are not aware about any of this and fall prey to mosquito bites easily. Those creatures making noise around your ear is not only annoying but can be dangerous enough to spread deadly diseases like Dengue, Encephalitis, Malaria, and Chikungunya. If you get bitten by mosquitoes that carry malaria or chikungunya virus, then at the initial stage you can treat it with some home remedies for malaria or home remedies for chikungunya . One of the important concerns here is to avoid these mosquito bites since they may cause allergies, fever and several infections in your baby. Ignoring mosquitoes seems like a distant dream, so your best bet would be to reduce the chances of your baby being bitten by the dangerous creatures. You can use mosquito repellent for kids like mosquito repellent patches or mosquito repellent wristband and take other precautionary measures to protect your children from mosquito bites and the diseases caused by them.

How to Protect Babies From Mosquito Bites?

  1. Dress protective clothing :

One of the best ways of mosquito protection for babies is to reduce the area of exposed skin. Cotton garments and lightweight knits can be used since they allow the passage of air while covering your baby’s body.

  2. Apply insect repellent :

Apply a good quality insect repellent on your baby’s uncovered skin areas, it will repel the mosquitoes from coming near your baby and keep them protected from its bite for long. You can always opt for a natural mosquito repellent cream product like Odomos. It contains natural ingredients, is skin friendly, safe for use on children, provide 99.9% protection against mosquito bite for up to 8 hours and is easy to carry anywhere as it is available in cream, gel, roll on, spray, patches & wrist band formats.

  3. Use Mosquito Nets :

How to protect your baby from mosquitoes at night? Does this question constantly bother you? Well, what you can do is ensure that your baby sleeps in a sleeping net. In case you are travelling with your baby, you can use the elasticated nets that are easily available in the market. Chemically-treated nets can also be used for this purpose.

  4. Keep Your Child Away from Mosquitoes :

Mosquitoes are overtly annoying as they can bother and bite any person from babies to the elderly. While we can slap and shoo them away, babies can’t do that. So, it is essential to keep babies away from mosquitoes. Mosquito bites can be itchy and make your child irritated. Mosquitoes carry deadly diseases such as Dengue and Malaria. By keeping surrounding environment clean and applying mosquito repellent gel on babies, you can protect them from mosquitoes.
